Tuesday's Tip: Rendering Lard

We get asked on occasion if we sell lard. Unfortunately at this point we do not sell rendered lard (just unrendered lard) as we do not have an inspected kitchen with which to farther process lard. BUT the good new is it is very easy to do this at home. I love using lard for all my savoury frying needs, vegetables, meats, ect. After I render it I like to freeze it in silicone muffin or mini loaf pans that I can pop them out of when hard and store in ziplock bags. This creates perfect small portions to keep one at a time in my fridge for use.
